MARIA CLARA CONTRUCCI

BIO
Works as a performer, visual artist and artist's assistant. With a degree in Performing Arts and a post-graduate degree in Performative Writing from PUC-Rio, she continued her studies at the Parque Lage School of Visual Arts and works with performance, video, painting, writing, magical practices, symbolic studies & etc.
My creative trajectory has unfolded in various media, initially rooted in the world of the performing arts, before branching out into various projects, all focused on exploring the word, color, movement and the feminine universe.
I'm interested in the intersection between self and other, and how individual experiences can resonate collectively. I believe that form is content and content is form, creator is creature and creature transforms creator. How the most intimate can become universal and all that exists on the axis between individual identities and shared experiences.
Life is an invented story.
Has been a resident at MArt (Lisbon), Centro de Referência da Dança (SP), Galeria Refresco (RJ) and Casa Belgrado (Bsas), having presented performances and projects at institutions such as SESC, EAV Parque Lage, Centro Cultural dos Correios, BoCA Bienal de Artes Contemporâneas, MUHNAC Lisboa, Pivô, ArtRio, among others.
